Spring Lake Residents

All Spring Lake property owners and their children are eligible for a free library card.*  Complete a registration form in the library and present it with a form of ID such as a Drivers License or a piece of mail with your Spring Lake address.


*If you own property in Spring Lake, but live elsewhere through the school year, you are still eligible for a library card at no fee
*If you are renting a property in Spring Lake for the school year, you may sign up for a family card at no fee.

  Non-Residents and Summer Renters Living in the Spring Lake area

Non-residents and families renting in Spring Lake during the summer months may apply for a non-resident card. Simply submit the registration form, a form of ID that shows current address and the applicable fee.  

Associated Fees:
Non-Resident- $15
Non-Resident Senior (Age 62 and older)- $10
Spring Lake Area Summer Renting Residents- $15

To begin the process, you must first have your Library card number. You can get this by either stopping in or calling the Library.


The website we use is: elibrarynj.com (you will automatically be directed to this web address once you click on the link at the bottom of this page) 

There are 2 simple steps once you are in the site:

- Select Spring Lake Public Library  from the drop down list

-Type in your library card number
beginning with the P (ex: P55565)

If you want a book we don't carry, we will try to obtain it for you from another library through a system called JerseyCat.

To put in a request for a book from another Library, you must stop in the Library for assistance.


Note: The book must be at least one year old in order for other Libraries to lend it.

Inside the library

We can allow 3 groups at a time in the library. Please practice social distancing at all times.

Masks will be required while in the Library.

We ask that visits be limited to 15 minutes to browse and select items.

Patrons can now use the Computers for short (30 min) sessions

You must sign in and sign out at the desk for Computer use, and they will be sanitized after each use.

Please note: There is no restroom available at this time.
